Finney’s Fish & Chips – National Fish & Chip Day Competition Terms & Conditions

 

1. Eligibility

 

The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 years or over.

Employees of Finney’s Fish & Chips and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.

 

2. How to Enter

 

Entries must be received before the advertised closing time. Late entries will not be included.

Entry instructions will be as stated on the official Facebook competition post.

 

3. Winner Selection

 

One winner will be selected at random from all valid entries.

The winner will be contacted via Facebook on Friday morning.

If the winner does not respond or is unavailable, Finney’s Fish & Chips reserves the right to select an alternative winner.

 

4. Prize Details

 

The prize includes:

A supervised behind-the-scenes fish and chip shop experience

The opportunity to prepare and cook their own fish and chips under the direct supervision of a trained member of staff

A Finney’s Fish & Chips uniform to keep

Finney’s merchandise bundle as advertised

The prize is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.

 

5. Experience Conditions

 

The winner must be available to attend Finney’s Fish & Chips either before 5:00pm or after 7:00pm on National Fish & Chip Day.

The experience duration will be limited to approximately 30–60 minutes.

The winner will not be permitted to bring guests into the kitchen or behind the counter area. Guests may remain in customer areas only if permitted by staff.

The experience will take place in a working food preparation environment and may be paused or stopped at any time due to operational requirements.

 

6. Health, Safety & Hygiene

 

The winner must be aged 18 or over and may be required to provide proof of age.

The winner must sign a health & safety disclaimer and risk acknowledgement prior to participating.

The winner must comply with all instructions given by staff at all times.

Finney’s Fish & Chips reserves the right to terminate the experience immediately if safety instructions are not followed.

 

7. Health Requirements

 

The winner must disclose any allergies, medical conditions or limitations that may affect safe participation.

The winner must not attend if they have experienced symptoms of sickness, diarrhoea, fever, or any contagious illness within the previous 48 hours.

The winner must not attend under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair judgement or safe participation.

 

8. Clothing & Conduct

 

The winner must wear suitable clothing and footwear. Open-toed shoes, sandals, high heels, and loose or unsuitable clothing are not permitted in the working kitchen area.

Appropriate hygiene standards must be followed at all times, including handwashing and use of provided protective clothing.

 

9. Media & Publicity

 

The winner agrees that photographs and/or video may be taken during the experience and used by Finney’s Fish & Chips for promotional, marketing, and social media purposes.

The winner may opt out of media usage by notifying Finney’s Fish & Chips before the experience begins.

 

10. General

 

Finney’s Fish & Chips reserves the right to amend, suspend, or withdraw the competition at any time if necessary.

Finney’s Fish & Chips accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury arising from participation in the experience, except where caused by negligence.
